HP Ink & Toner Prices Set to Increase in Australia 3rd November

HP is set to increase the prices of many of its toner and ink supplies products from 3 November 2025 as part of its routine portfolio management in line with current marketing conditions. Price increases will be between 5% to 20% on select HP ink and toner cartridges, services, and potentially other products starting at the beginning of next month.

On average, the price of HP ink cartridges will increase by 8% and HP toner cartridges by 15%. CartridgesDirect customers are urged to buy HP supplies now before the end of the month so they can avoid the price hikes.

Why are HP raising their prices?

HP could be raising their prices due to a combination of factors. Primarily, new tariffs could be a motivating factor for price increases, which means increased import costs for the company. In order to account for taxes imposed on imported and exported goods, HP may seek to increase their prices worldwide. The impact of recent tariffs may be higher than expected and HP may not be able to mitigate their costs in the short term, thus the price increases in Australia starting from 1 November.

HP has also recently announced that they will seek to move much of their production out of China in response to USA tariffs. The process of shifting manufacturing operations is expensive and takes time to complete, thus leading to increased costs that are passed on to consumers through price increases. These cost pressures may all be part of HP’s decision to increase the prices of their products here in Australia, meaning local consumers will have to absorb the difference.

HP ink & toner will be hit by price hikes

Many of HP’s most popular products will be affected by the upcoming price increases, including their ink and toner cartridges. HP ink and toner cartridges will become more expensive starting from 3 November. The average price of HP ink cartridges will increase by 8%, meaning many standard ink colour packs will cost an extra $10 or more.

These price increases will impact the cost of HP toner cartridges, too, which will see an average increase of 15%. Toner cartridges are generally more expensive than ink cartridges, so they could cost an extra $30 to $50 per unit starting this November.

It is possible that other HP products and printing accessories might also be impacted by future price increases, like HP photo paper. It is unclear at this time if imported electronics parts will be impacted as well. If so, then this will likely see an increase in price for HP printers and other devices, as well.
